Hotel User Requirements

Traditional hotel structured cabling typically includes 3 networks: the fixed telephone network (telephone lines), CATV television network (coaxial or Ethernet cables), and broadband Internet network (Ethernet cables). This results in the following issues in weak current systems:

1. Extensive structured cabling works (three types of cables: telephone lines, TV cables, Ethernet cables, etc.), complex construction, and high cabling costs.

2. Data, TV, and telephone systems operate independently, making service integration difficult, inconvenient to upgrade, and likely to cause losses on early investments.

3. Numerous system devices increase hotel investment and maintenance workload. Traditional TV and telephone services are difficult to maintain remotely, leading to high maintenance costs and inconvenience.

With the IP-based transformation of telephony and television, triple play has entered implementation. Triple Play carries data, TV, and telephone services over a single network, sharing lines and equipment to simplify the network to the greatest extent, reduce cabling and equipment costs, and deliver high-quality integrated services.

Based on its expertise in routing, interactive TV, VoIP, wireless terminals and related developed products, combined with cost-effective carrier-grade access terminals (mainly optical network units, integrated gateways, enterprise gateways, etc.), Shubao Network has proposed 3 triple play solutions for hotels.

Solution 1: Triple Play Solution Based on Fiber Integrated Gateway

Shubao Routing System + Shubao IPTV System + Fiber Access Integrated Gateway

FTTH Solution Description:

Fiber optic connections are used from the equipment room to all rooms and access points. OLT equipment is deployed in the equipment room, and fiber access integrated gateways are used at the terminals.

· Broadband Internet:The Shubao routing system manages external Internet access and internal networks. Each room is directly connected via FTTH+LAN with a dedicated broadband account configured on the integrated gateway for Internet access.

· Telephone:Standard telephones in rooms connect to telephone ports on the integrated gateway and then to the SIP server (built into the Shubao routing system). Internal calls are switched directly via the SIP server, while external calls are routed through FXO voice gateways.

· Interactive TV:Room TVs (with HDMI ports) connect to the HDMI port of the integrated gateway, which links to the Shubao IPTV system.

· In-Room WiFi:Internet access via built-in WiFi on the integrated gateway.

· Public Area WiFi:Shubao wireless APs connect to optical network units via PoE switches. Managed by the built-in AC module in the router, centralized management and seamless roaming are supported.

· Security Cameras:Cameras connect to optical network units linked to PoE switches, enabling multi-camera capture and network interoperability.

Solution 2: Triple Play Solution Based on Ethernet Integrated Gateway

Shubao Routing System + Shubao IPTV System + Ethernet Access Integrated Gateway

Solution Description:

Ethernet connections are used from the equipment room to all rooms and access points. Switches are deployed in the equipment room, Ethernet integrated gateways in guest rooms, and enterprise gateways in offices.

· Broadband Internet:The Shubao routing system manages external Internet access and internal networks. Each room is directly connected via LAN with a dedicated broadband account configured on the enterprise gateway for Internet access.

· Telephone:Standard telephones in rooms connect to telephone ports on integrated or enterprise gateways and then to the SIP server (built into the Shubao routing system). Internal calls are switched directly via the SIP server, while external calls are routed through voice gateways.

· Interactive TV:Room TVs connect to the HDMI port of the integrated gateway for direct interactive TV playback.

· In-Room WiFi:Guest rooms use built-in WiFi on integrated gateways; offices use WiFi on enterprise gateways.

· Public Area WiFi:Shubao wireless APs connect to the internal network via PoE switches. Managed by the built-in AC module in the router, centralized management and seamless roaming are supported.

Solution 3: Triple Play Solution Based on Ethernet Enterprise Gateway

Shubao Routing System + Shubao IPTV System + Enterprise Gateway + Set-Top Box(Smart TV)

Solution Description:

Ethernet connections are used from the equipment room to all rooms and access points. Switches are deployed in the equipment room, and enterprise gateways (VoIP wireless routers) at the terminals.

· Broadband Internet:The Shubao routing system manages external Internet access and internal networks. Each room is directly connected via LAN with a dedicated broadband account configured on the enterprise gateway for Internet access.

· Telephone:Standard telephones in rooms connect to telephone ports on enterprise gateways and then to the SIP server (built into the Shubao routing system). Internal calls are switched directly via the SIP server, while external calls are routed through voice gateways.

· Interactive TV:IPTV set-top boxes or custom smart TVs in rooms connect to Ethernet ports on enterprise gateways and then to the Shubao IPTV system.

· In-Room WiFi:Internet access via built-in WiFi on the enterprise gateway.

· Public Area WiFi:Shubao wireless APs connect to the internal network via PoE switches. Managed by the built-in AC module in the router, centralized management and seamless roaming are supported.

· Security Cameras:Cameras connect to PoE switches.
